Texas Mountain Laurel

Sophora secundiflora (Texas Mountain Laurel) is an evergreen shrub or small tree known for its dense, dark green foliage and showy, fragrant flowers. Growing up to 30 feet tall, it typically reaches a height of 10-15 feet. The bluish-lavender, grape-scented blooms appear in early spring, followed by semi-woody pods containing bright red, toxic seeds. Drought-tolerant and slow-growing, it thrives in rocky, limestone soils and is popular as an ornamental tree.
