Blue Flax, Linum lewisii var. lewisii, is an perennial herb that is native to various regions including Texas, California, and Alaska. It thrives is dry, well-drained soils and is highly drought tolerant. It blooms all summer long and attracts beneficial insects and is especially valuable to native bees. Blue flax is the perfect ornamental wildflower for meadows, prairies, and water-wise landscaping. It was also used medicinally amongst Native American tribes to treat eye infections, stomach aches, swellings, sore throats, and heartburn.
